Credit by Exam:

In accordance with Arizona State law, students may request to take a credit by exam to receive credit for a course. Credits by exam are designed for students who possess extensive demonstrable knowledge on a subject. Students who pass the exam receive credit for the course in lieu of attending classes for that course. The student must obtain a minimum score of 70% in order to receive a passing grade of “P” on the transcript.

Independent Study:

Full time students have the option of taking independent study courses designed by experienced high school educators and aligned to the Arizona State Standards for Secondary education. Independent study courses are designed for motivated, responsible, self-disciplined students, as they are quite rigorous and require counselor or administrator approval before signing up.

  • Paycheck stubs
  • Dated time cards signed by the employer or supervisor
  • A signed letter on company letterhead form the employer or supervisor indicating dates of employment and work schedule.

Students who qualify may earn 1/2 elective credit for every 90 hours of work experience with a maximum of two credits/360 hours of work per school year.

Students are only able to earn work study credits for the pay periods that they are in attendance at Precision High School. Students should discuss the work study program with a school counselor before engaging in the work study program.
