Earn a college diploma in the Carpentry, Electrical, or Plumbing field. Classes taken in construction programs count towards graduation as elective credits in Math and Science.

Electrical graduates shall possess entry-level electrician skills. They will demonstrate an understanding of electrical terminology and schematic drawings as well as the ability to interpret the National Electric Code. The graduate will be able to properly identify and use tools, equipment wires and other electrical materials. The graduate will possess skills and knowledge necessary to safely and effectively repair and install various types of electrical equipment and and circuit in compliance with appropriate codes.

Carpentry graduates will have attained entry level carpentry skills, understand carpentry terminology, applicable basic math principles and basic field engineering principles. The graduate will be able to read blueprints and interpret the Uniform Building Codes. Graduates can identify and work with the different types of building materials, tools, and other equipment of the trade. The graduate, while following proper safety procedures, will be able to set concrete forms, build basic foundations, frame floors, walls, ceilings, details, roofs and basic stairs. Graduates will properly execute techniques for interior and exterior finish work.

Plumbing graduates of this program shall possess entry level plumbing skills. The graduate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the Uniform Plumbing Code. The graduate will be able to identify and properly use pipe, fittings, tools, equipment and fixtures. The graduate will possess knowledge and skills requisite to effectively repair and install various types of plumbing systems in compliance with Uniform Plumbing Code and safety requirements.
